ARPECDOURO, sponsored the ISIZA2016 event in the Church of Santa Maria, designed by the renowned architect Portuguese, Siza Vieira.

The event was attended by several experts in the field of architecture, history and theology, who met to discuss the theme ‘Architecture of the Sacred’. The main purpose of the event was to raise funds for the church and highlight the importance of religious architecture.

The church of Santa Maria is an example of minimalist and functionalist architecture, which is one of the main features of Siza Vieira’s work. Located in Marco de Canaveses, this church is known for its simple and elegant geometric shape, highlighting the intelligent use of natural light and the careful choice of building materials.
